Summary

We helped a yacht owner in National City upgrade an aging shore power connection by installing a new smart plug 30A system. The upgrade was needed to replace worn hardware and improve overall safety.

The Work

Removed the old 30A shore power inlet and inspected the existing wiring for any damage
Adjusted the cut-out to fit the new stainless steel smart plug inlet and wired it in place
Replaced the old cable end, exposing healthy conductors and installing the new smart plug cable end with proper strain relief
Added a new shore power boot with collar and male plug for a complete, secure connection

The Outcome

The yacht now has a cleaner, safer shore power setup. The upgraded connection reduces the risk of electrical issues and makes plugging in more straightforward for the owner.
